At In The Ruff, we work hard to maintain a clean, sanitized, and healthy environment for every pet in our care. We also have the facility professionally treated monthly for flea prevention/control as an added layer of protection. However, fleas and common canine illnesses can still be picked up anywhere dogs go — yards, parks, vet offices, apartment grass, walks, daycare, grooming salons, pet stores… basically anywhere dogs exist. 

 

Because of that, we HIGHLY recommend:

 > Keeping pets on a consistent flea/tick preventative

 > Staying current on vaccines like Bordetella and other recommended vaccines.

 > Monitoring pets for excessive scratching, coughing, lethargy, or irritation                   before appointments

 

While we do everything we can to keep pets safe and comfortable, we cannot guarantee prevention of fleas or airborne illnesses common in social dog environments — especially during peak seasons.

 

Basically:

 > Dogs love making friends.

 > Friends share things.

 > Sometimes those things are fleas and bad decisions.
